Wintergreen for Sore Muscles
The first snow of the season has reminded me from shoveling pathways, and driveways - a diluted (with almond, or olive oil) application of organic Wintergreen essential oil can help with aching muscles and joints. For the early gardeners there are countless reasons to keep this a handy remedy for the aches that can come from soil and garden preparations as well. Please remember to keep application away from eyes and sensitive areas.
Resiliency in 2026
As a clinic we choose a word for the year and this year our word is resilience. When I suddenly came down with the flu, I was not as prepared for the duration of my malaise as I had hoped. My self-sufficiency gave way to asking for support from friends to drop off more remedies and supplies. While I was out for an entire week, I thought about how humans are not able to supply, grow, and make everything we need to live in this modern world. Despite our best efforts there are items, products and materials we rely on from outside of our area. As resilient beings we rely on our high power, ourselves, our friends and family, and on the wider systems that support everything that is not available from our personal and more local resources.
As we enter into these next seasons of more change and disruption of the larger systems that we all rely on, I am renewed and grateful to have a web of support that can help me get back on my feet. It remains a priority for me to nurture the relationships with people that have a sense of shared wellbeing. If you feel so moved, please take time to honor those in your life that know that your wellness, is their wellness, that we are all connected, and that our collective health is important to our sense of wellbeing and resilience.
